Review: Munchkin Snack Catcher

So this is what they call writer’s block. I have 15 topics listed in my Drafts folder and I can’t seem to choose one to write about. With the roller coaster ride that’s been happening around here in Manila – foreign exchange, hostage taking crisis and Venus Raj winning 4th runner up Miss Universe …. Yeah, I’m just making excuses for my writer’s block. I used to hear it when I’m blog hopping but it never really affected me before. That’s because I don’t require myself to write when I don’t feel like it. However, after reaching my first year, I wanted to be more responsible.

Like I said before, I wanted to post at least once a week. I try as much as I could to have scheduled post to avoid cramming if I don’t have the time to write although it is sometimes unavoidable to always have time. I have to stop myself making excuses now.

I got this video while I was organizing my backup external drive a week ago. I’ve almost forgotten I have this:

I’m not in any way paid or sponsored by Munchkin but I just love their products. One favorite is the Munchkin Snack Catcher. Besides that it’s BPA free, it’s got side handles that your kids can hold onto. I have a really, really hyper toddler. Really hyper! So when he’s holding something, there’s this 90% chance that it’s going to be thrown or spilled.

Having a snack catcher as such is  just a blessing. It keeps the food inside the container as long as my kid won’t pull on it’s lid. Well, it’s not 100% spill proof but it minimizes the chances of having to pick up the food off the floor. We also bring it when we go out of the house. It saves me from shame of having a mess in public areas and helps me to keep the car/car seat clean. It’s also easy to clean since my hands can fit into it as well. The colors to choose from are also attractive for kids. One more thing I like about this snack catcher is that I can also use it as a training cup. When something has multiple uses, I like it!

Another snack catcher that I’ve considered is the Boon Snack Ball. It’s cute and it challenges the kid’s curiosity while trying to access the snack in it. However, I feel that it’s too small in size that’s why I’ve chosen Munchkin over Boon.

The only thing I wish that Munchkin would include for this snack catcher is another lid. I have a small Lock n’ Lock container for his opened snacks. This container fits in his diaper bag and then I put opened snacks in this container that he did not get to finish to keep them fresh and crisp. If the Munchkin Snack Catcher has another lid, I do not have to try to fit it in this container. Also, the lid that holds the food in the catcher can be taken off by my kid. I hope it could be locked somehow.

You can purchase the Munchkin Snack Catcher at all Rustan’s Department Stores or from online multiply stores.

I highly recommend this if you have toddlers. I always have wipes handy in the car, diaper bag and kitchen. But having spilled food is just waste – I don’t like it and I don’t like cleaning it.

I am going to be in SM Megamall this coming Friday, August 27, 2010 for the Bosom Buddies: We All Support Breastfeeding Mommies. Anybody else coming?
